Lavelle and co have done it again. I am a big fan of Lavelle's style and i know James is a big fan of rock but i couldn't have guessed this would have been their next offering. It's not Pysence Fiction or Never Never Land which is a good thing as its not predictable. The trademark Unkle production is still there- lush moody soundscapes and dark meaningful lyrics.This is a must for all Unkle, Dj Shadow, James Lavelle fans.

Offer Nissim is a legend in Israel and his remixes are outstanding.
On this double cd some big names (Donna Summer, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Kristine W, Suzanne Palmer ) and some underground artists receive the royal treatment... the remix of One Night Only (Dreamgirls) sung by Beyonce with a sample of Dirty Old Man of The Three Degrees is to die for and so is Hurt by Christina Aguilera (with a sample of Twin Peaks like in Moby's GO). These remixes sound very "dub" which is perfect for a house music party.
To really enjoy this set I would recommend to turn up the volume.

If Heart Of Africa, on his own Mixture label, drew admiring glances, it was his contribution to the Africanism series (with Bob Sinclar and DJ Gregory), the stunning Edony, which turned heads. Originally intended purely as a club track, Edony shot to the top of club charts and from there launched itself into mainstream arenas. That was the start of a big career that still goes on. 1999 was THE year for crasher, and it has to be said that their 3 albums from this year; Red, Wet and Disco-Tech are among the best dance comilations ever compiled. I thought nothing could top the stunning Red in its velvet case, but I could be wrong.
Crasher Wet captures some amazing character, just as Red did with its party, spiritual sounds. Except this this time round, the album does indeed have a Wet character. The clever use of 'ripple' style sounds in the rhythms really adds that summery, fresh feeling, and its totally consistant. Its one of those albums you would take with you if you were stranded on a desert island. Its hard to put it into words how this water effect is put into the mixing and music, you'll just have hear. Maybe the finest dance album ever compiled.
