Coaching Offering

For those who don’t know a lot about me let me reintroduce my poker skills - achievements. I play on pokerstars as djalexlee the last 3 years in 6 max and full ring games up to 50NL with big success. I have achieved supernova status 3 consecutive years and i have played over 2 million hands multitabling from 15 to 24 tables.

Here is a 400+k sample of various micro stakes results

I am currently coaching NL2-NL50 micro stakes students. The current cost is $25/hr with 10 hour package discounts available (paypal/pokerstars transfer) - but as demand increases so too will price. If you are interested in learning more add me on Skype alexplios or add me on Facebook  Alexandros Plios
Note: If you play lower then 25NL and would like me to be your coach,  you really want to work and study on your game, i am willing to work some discount out.

I want to help students think about the game better about poker and give them a formula to crush their stakes. I question their thought processes constantly, and look for consistent mistakes and leaks. We will find the root cause for those mistakes, and come up with a plan of action to fix them. My approach involves a fair amount of theory but is also very practical in-game. I can also help students adopt thought patterns that will minimize tilt and maximize the amount of time spent playing their A-game. Students will learn the tools to help them analyze and work on their own game effectively in the future.

Services Available:
Theory Discussion:
Basic theory concepts, 3-betting, c-betting, stealing, range analysis, Leak Busting

Software Issues:
Proper use of Holdem Manager, Tableninja, Tableselection software and how to maximize your $/hour

Psychology Issues:

Reduce - eliminate tilt, Deal with negative variance, Fear of moving up

Busting Live Mtts SUCKS!!!

Helo Guys
This month i played a live mtt in Thesaloniki, the CYPT 550euros buyin. Heres a fast update.
Day1 started with 20k chips in 1 hour blind levels. The bigest pot i played was with AA i raised 4x the button with 1 limper small blind and limper calls.
Checked to me 3 way J83 rainbow cbet 70% and get min chk raised from sb which was prety fishy so far, the limper folds and i decide to play a mid size pot and call so i can
re evaluate in pos the turn… turn is a 3 no flush which is a good card for me, sb bets about 60% i decide to call one more. River is the 2d and completes the flush. Sb bets to me again oop 20% of the pot.
Looked to me like a block bet but i didnt like to raise more for value there and play a huge pot with 1 pair, so i called and won the pot, he showed me KK …wtf!
No other  big pots really on day 1 floped a couple of sets but didnt get serious action, i  finished with 35,5500 the first day.
Day2 i started prety bad. Lag fishy player  opens the coff and the sb ships 15bbs i look down on the bb and i have 1010 i minreraise over the shortstack to iso and the initial raiser folds i lost to JJ.
After this pot i droped down to 40bbs and the rest of the day i won some small pots by stealing blinds and lost some small pots where i had some easy folds.
I busted in the 1/2k level with 44k stack. I had utg AKs and i limp to trap some lags and get some dead money vs fish calling a lot the lags. Lagy button  isolates me to 6 k sb calls behind.
I ship 44k button folds 1010 sb calls with 99 ….. Brick brick brick brickbrick….

I end up in the hotel 24tabling 50nl to fix my psychology up a bit so i dont think about it….
Mtts suck, bring the next one. Good luck to all the mtt guys out there fighting variance waiting for the big pay day
respect.

Having coaching and working on my game

Whats up guys?

I decided to receive some help with my game so i can move up to harder games. I win 25nl with a decent winrate over a big sample, but when i move to 50nl nit - festival tables i hit a wall. As part of Team Moshman one of the biggest advantages is that you can get in touch with people that have awesome poker minds. So after meeting with Jesse Foster aka entrncd and having my first session am pretty impressed. With only 2 hours with Jesse i got a big boost to my game and confidence. Jesse didn't treat me as a stupid lower stakes player no matter how stupid my questions were... He was able not only to spot leaks and give general advices but provided me solid math proof easy to work on my mind. I can happily say my time and effort were invested wisely and I recommend Josh to anyone out there wishing to take poker seriously.

20 Things Bruce Lee Can Teach You About Poker

Bruce Lee
"Boards don't hit back."
Bruce Lee is widely considered to be the best fighter of all time.  He died when he was 32 from an allergic reaction to a painkiller, but his philosophy and wise words (which are shockingly relevant to poker) continue to be an inspiration.  Here are 20 lessons you can learn from Bruce Lee.

Mental Toughness

  1. Don’t fear failure.
  2. Optimism is a faith that leads to success.
  3. A good martial artist does not become tense but ready.

Tilt & Variance

  1. Know the difference between a catastrophe and an inconvenience. To realize that it’s just an inconvenience [...] is part of waking up.
  2. Like everyone else you want to learn the way to win, but never to accept the way to lose — to accept defeat. To learn to die is to be liberated from it.
  3. The happiness that is derived from excitement is like a brilliant fire — soon it will go out.
  4. A martial artist has to take responsibility for himself and face the consequences of his own doing.
  5. Forget about winning and losing; forget about pride and pain.
  6. Walk on.

Adjusting to Your Opponents

  1. When the opponent expands I contract and when he contracts, I expand. And when there is an opportunity, “I” do not hit, “It” hits all by itself.
  2. Let your opponent graze your skin and you smash into his flesh; let him smash into your flesh and you fracture his bones; let him fracture your bones and you take his life.
  3. You can never invite the wind, but you must leave the window open.
  4. Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water.
  5. Truth has no path.
  6. Jeet Kune Do favors formlessness so that it can assume all forms and since Jeet Kune Do has no style, it can fit in with all styles. As a result, Jeet Kune Do utilizes all ways and is bound by none.

Improving

  1. Even today, I dare not say that I have reached a state of achievement. I’m still learning, for learning is boundless.
  2. We have great work ahead of us, and it needs devotion and much, much energy.
  3. Use only that which works, and take it from any place you can find it.
  4. When you’re talking about fighting, as it is, with no rules, well then, baby you’d better train every part of your body!

Table Selection

  1. The worst opponent you can come across is one whose aim has become an obsession.
Bruce Lee’s words can help you find the path to poker enlightenment.  Next time you’re facing a difficult decision at a poker table, maybe you should just ask myself “What would Bruce Lee do?”
